    Rare 1824-J 8 reales, minted in Potosi, which soon became part of the newly founded Bolivian Republic. Coins with the "J" mint mark are much rarer than the common "PJ" mint mark. And 1824-J is a
    much
    tougher date than 1825, with just 2 graded examples in the NGC census, both receiving a VF grade. 1825-J, in comparison, has 4 graded examples, one at the Mint State level. This coin was produced during the war for Independence from Spain when the land was in turmoil.
